It was 11:30am when I got here. Ordered the $5.19 sandwich combo: guava BBQ pork with a side of yuca w garlic sauce and a mango sweet tea. The sweet tea was out so the girlbehind the counter filled up my drink... with unsweetened tea. When I went to get packets of sugar, they wre all moist and unusable. The fresh nap to clean my hands was dried up before I could even use it. The yuca needed a lot of salt and pepper to give it any taste. The pork sandwich was tasty though it wouldn't make me return. Don't see myself returning any time soon for this uh lunch.

The Good: You get a lot of food for the price with a variety of side dish choices. The Bad: Pepsi products for which you have to go to the counter to be refilled.

I love this place & wish we had it in NY!! The roasted & grilled chicken is flavorful, moist, & tender. The roasted pork is seriously amazing & with the sauce bar they have of many different sauces to choose from, you're sure to find the flavor profile you're looking for. I always get pork or chicken & multiple soufflé cups of the creamy cilantro garlic sauce; its Caribbean flavored heaven. The rice & beans are cooked perfectly & really good, as well as the plantains. I've only tried these few items but they have been superb each & every time. Since I am on vacation but trying to stay on my healthy regiment as much as possible, I took out grilled chicken breast & I'm going to make my brown rice quinoa pasta, sautéed zucchini & squash in olive oil & garlic sauce. My parents don't have a grill so this is great & it was $3 for a flavorful piece of grilled pollo:) yummy!!!

Good, but not as good as it is made out to be. I ordered the chicken sandwich. I like the general environment.

NO CHICKEN... AGAIN! POOR MANAGEMENT at this location! I waited in a long line for aprox 12-15 min then when I reached the cash register I was told no chicken for at least 15 min. This is the THIRD TIME this has happened to me at this location. I won't be back!

I tried this place for the first time yesterday. I went through the drive thru and ordered the grilled chicken breasts with yellow rice and sweet plantains. It smelled amazing, the chicken was flavorful, a bit dry, but it tasted good, the rice was a little bland but again it was good and the sweet plantains were very yummy. Service was quick and the lady was nice. I'll be back to try out some of the other items in the menu.

I rarely and I mean rarely rate.... Very dissatisfied with my to go order and feel ripped off. I waited a good 20 mins for a whole roasted chicken and sides. The Chicken was burned and dried out completely...parts even inedible. This was obviously chicken that sat and continued to cook for HOURS. If you wouldn't eat it...than I am not going to eat it. I payed 11.00+ for this? Will not be back EVER.

The food is above average quality but getting the order correct is almost always a failure. And I'm not talking about the drive thru, I'm talking about take out from the counter. They'll forget a side or a dessert and one time I even got a glass with just ice, no drink! How do you not notice there's nothing in the cup besides ice before you put a top on it?! Seriously, I would go there a lot more often but the headaches caused by having to stand at the counter and tell them that they missed something almost every time I go there is really tiring.

I'd rate this place well if they didn't screw my order up every time I went! It's better quality food for being "fast food" and they're open kind of late. But EVERY TIME I go there, it seems like they find a way to mess something up. Just needs better service.

Wow just walked in loaded up on fresh food amazing g sauces and loved it! The Trio was the best choice for me but wife had the chopped! The The spicy Poy-Poy sauce adds the right amount of heat. And the staff was friendly.

I realize Pollo Tropical is technically a fast food chain, but I think it's really good. I would consider it a rather healthy (unprocessed) faster dining choice. Most everything I've ever had from PT has been good. The way they grill all the meat directly behind the counter for all to see reminds me of the Chipotle restaurants. And, I love their sauce bar--especially the cilantro garlic! There are too many locations to review, so I've posted this review for the location closest to me. Overall... (thumbs up)!

When it comes to grilled chicken I can't think of a better fast food alternative. Every dish I've tried so far at PT has been flavorful and satisfying. Like other reviewers I have had differing levels of service from location to location, but the food quality stays consistent. Opt for fried yuca and try the cilantro garlic sauce with whatever you get. It's the tastiest alternative to the French fry I've found...ever. The interior is what you would expect from a fast food joint (read cold tiles and small tables). But the sound and smell of halved and quartered chickens roasting on the massive, visible grill does add a certain charm to the decor. The sauce bar provides a bunch of tasty additions to your chosen meal but are often a little messy, so be warned. Put a PT on the beach and it would be pretty damn close to perfect. Unfortunately, none of them are. Lol

I have mixed feeling about Pollo Tropical. They are very inconsistent but have great tasting food, especially for fast food. I have been to multiple locations around Central Florida and have had various problems at different locations. Only once or twice did I actually have no problems. The most common issue they have is S-L-O-W service. You can be in the drive-thru or inside and sometimes you get stuck waiting for up to 10 minutes!! Crazy! I know they cook things fresh but sometimes they seem unprepared for the orders they receive. Other problems I have include getting the wrong food which you don't realize until you have driven away and watching the gloved employees handle money then directly touch the food. Gross. They have changed their menu a bit too. They used to offer a Chicken sandwich that had a big piece of meat, so big I could eat it for 2 meals. They have switched it out for a wrap which is a lot smaller and has a lot less chicken. Just their way of saving money, I guess. All that said, I keep going back. I still get frustrated with the problems I have but the food is worth it. I love the plantains, and often that is what gets me to visit. Most of their sides (light, crisp french fries-yumm) are good along with chicken, steak and shrimp.

I have to agree with the fist reviewer. I too found this place in the fort Lauderdale area and had it almost every day for a week. this place is all about good food and a great value. I got the triple combo meal for lunch and it was enough for a partial dinner too. it was excellent chicken , steak and ribs with yellow rice and balsamic tomatoes. very healthy and fresh tasting. I wish they would open one in San Diego it would be a gold mine.I took a photo of my yummy plate

The food here is pretty good for fast food and it is very tasty and not over priced at all, the service is good and the place it self is clean including bathrooms. Everything they offer here is Spanish food and anything from plantains to black beans and rice and some good chicken

Good food, hot, fresh and fast (drive through). I've eaten there several times and all of the orders were correct and taste fine. For a fast food chain this is a small mark above. Clean-ish on the inside.

I was introduced to this chain down in South Florida, and I was excited to see it come to Orlando. They have a fast food ambiance but surprisingly good food. Pollo features Cuban food, with the primary focus being chicken (naturally). Their chicken is marinated in mojo and then flame-grilled, resulting in a pleasant char and incredible flavor. In addition, they have excellent traditional sides such as black beans and rice, plantains and yucca. Their prices are quite cheap for the quality; you can get a quarter chicken with black beans and rice for about $6. A great place to stop for lunch, or to do some take-out dinner. Highly recommended.
